IBSC 131 More Early demos of the Tom Gary Blues Band 1993

1993 is where the time machine takes us tonight as we listen to some early studio and live recordings of the Tom Gary Blues Band.  These are so old that I don't remember recording most of them:-)   The studio recordings that come first feature Tom Gary on piano and vocal, with Billy Birch on sax, Probably Harry Michaels on guitar, and Steve Green on drums.  The two live songs were from a show at Connie's Lounge with the Tom Gary Blues Band, Jonny and the Soul Searchers, and Scotty and the Wingtips.  Unfortunately only two songs so far exist.  (I am pretty sure I have at least all of my band recorded somewhere) Those two songs feature Dave Nesvette on guitar, Billy Birch on sax, Jay Weaver on bass, and Jimmy Smith on the drums.  

That is a great show, and yes we have letters!

IBSC 125 Bad Boys of the Blues LIVE Sep 27th at the Whiskey House

Another cool show at the Whiskey House with the Bad Boys of the Blues.  Featuring Jon East, Tom Gary, Norman Su, and Scotty Hartung, with special guest Bob Pace!   This was the first set of our September 27th Show.  It was fun playing with Bob Pace who played harmonica!

IBSC 123 Backstage Boogie Band RIP Otis Rush

Tonight we listen to the Backstage Boogie Band's final apparence at Baileys.  Lots of fun, blues, and birthday havoc!!!!  

RIP Otis Rush who died two days ago.  One of Chicago's great blues guitarists.  He will be missed. 

Tonights show was produced by Tom Gary, with Jono Smith and John Krantz.  The Backstage Boogie Band featured Doug Trammell on guitar and vocal, Tom Gary on Keys and vocal, Byron Wells on bass and vocal, and Rick Mosqueda on drums.
