Tonights show is from the wayback machine!   It is the Sunday Night Blues Showcase from either late March or early April of 1999!!!   It features a lot of great musicians from the past.  Staring Jimmy Pryor, with Scott Long, John Woody Wood, Jim Faar, and Tom Gary.  Our speical guests for the night. Tony Rivera, Clarence Key Jr, Rick Sholtz, and Bryn Onmie.  The show was produced and recorded by Tom Gary.  Enjoy!

Iowa Blues Showcase 39 Heather West, Steve George, and Frank Strong

Todays show is part two of the 3-8-2003 Iowa Blues Showcase.  it featured Heather West, and Steve George, with a special apparence by Frank Strong.  

The show was produced by Jay Taylor, and Tom Gary.  Director of bands was Jono Smith, with John Lee Eagan, Dave Andrews, Rick Mosqueda, and Don Brown.  DFTBA!

IBSC 38 CC Stewart, Gary Smith, and Des Moines on $50 with Frank Strong

Tonights show was originally recorded 3-8-2003.  Its stars CC Stewart, and the late Gary Smith. It also features Frank Strong on Des Moines on $50, which he discusses the first politicians of the season showing up for the 2004 caucuses.  

The show was produced by Jay Tayor and Tom Gary.  Director of Bands Was Jono Smith, with John lee Eagan, Dave Andrews, Rick Mosqueda, Frank Strong, and Don Brown.  

IBSC 37 Best of Season 5 Part 2

Tonight is the final best of season five of the Iowa Blues showcase. This is the second installment.  tonight we feature Bridget Thompson, Tina haas Finley, Sadona Cochrane, Matt Woods, Big Daddy Dennis Kain, Blue Two (Bob Dorr, and Jeff Peterson) Brandon Dennis, Jesse Moore, Bob Pace, and the Bad Boys of the Blues!  RIP Jeff Stratton.  

The Iowa Blues showcase was produced by Doug Trammell, and Tom Gary. Director of bands was Jono Smith, with John Lee Eagan, Emeal Myles, The Border Cat, and Brian Peirson on bass, Dave Andrews John Krantz, and Rick Mosquedea on drums, and Johnny Luna on trumpet.  Thanks for a great 2016! 

IBSC 36 Jimmy Pryor live at the Pines 1967

Tonights episode celebrates the 100th birthday of Des Moines blues legend Jimmy "Midnite Cowboy" Pryor.  Jimmy pryor was born offically on Feb 5th 1917 (Jimmy and his family believed he was born in 1916. However his birth certificate, and moter registration showed 1917)  This show was originally recorded on open reel tape by Jimmy Pryor back in 1967 at the Pines Supper Club north of Des Moines Iowa.  On this recording are Jimmy Pryor on guitar and Vocal, Walter Akiss on Saxophone, Carl Burse on bass guitar, and Robert Cox on drums.  The orginal tape was remastered to digital by Lee Bell, of Wolfer Sound in Des Moines in 2000.  

IBSC 35 Best of Season 5

tonight is part one of the best of the live shows of 2016.  Included in tonights show are Steve George, Dewey Cantrell, Clarence Key Jr.  Curry Harter, Big Al Daughtery, Tom Buckmiller, Harlan Thomas, John Lukehart, and the Backstage Boogie Band.  Show was produced by Doug Trammell, and Tom Gary.  

IBSC 34 Brandon Dennis, Jessie Moore, Dewey Cantrell, and Big Al Daughtery

tonights show is the last of our current Season 5.  it stars Brandon Dennis with Jesse Moore on vocals, Dewey Cantrell, and Big Al Daughtery.  The show was produced by Doug Trammell, and Tom Gary.  Director of bands was Jono Smith, with the Border cat, Brian Pierson, and John Krantz.  The show was originally recored on Dec 11th 2016.

2016 is over!!!!!   If you want to enjoy NYE with us start the podcast at 11:15 pm or 45 minutes until you want to celebrate NYE!   This is from our apparence at Bob Dorr's happy Blue year celebration from 2002-3.   The Iowa Blues Showcase Special NYE show stared Steve George, Jimmy Pryor, Chicago Rick and Gene Jackson, with special guest apparences by Heath Pattschull on sax, Rob Lumbard on harmonica, Gary King on sax, and possibly Bob Dorr on either sax or drums, and Bryce Janey on guitar.  The show was recorded by Phil Mass, and later turned into a podcast by Tom Gary.  Director of Bands Jono Smith, with John Lee Egan on Bass, Gary Lofstedt on Drums, and Frank Strong on Harmonica.
